Removable Media User Agreement
If confidential information is stored on removable media, it must be encrypted in accordance with Murray State University`s acceptable encryption policy. Derogations from this Directive may be requested on a case-by-case basis by means of a petition to the information system. Malware is defined as software with malicious intent/impact such as viruses, worms, and spyware. Encryption is a method used to convert data from its original form into a format that is not unreadable and/or unusable to anyone without the necessary tools/information to reverse the encryption process. Sensitive information is defined as information that, when made available to unauthorized persons, may adversely affect Murray State University, its programs or participants who are used by their programs.
